The first event of the 2011 NWST took place last month on June, 18th at Witty’s Lagoon in Metchosin BC.
In what seemed to be a good turnout, DB team rider Logan Davidson (who is currently on a two year skimboarding hiatus) took a well deserved first place, while fellow team riders Emile Panerio and Issac Thomas followed respectfully in that order.
In the girls division it was B.C.’s own, Anna Penn, who took the win landing some sick pop tricks and hitting the ride-on up box.
The format was 4-5 people in 5 min heats, top two from each heat advance.
Sponsors included Skim City, Skimboard Culture, DB Skimboards, Jack’d Skimboards, Zed Skimboards, SkimDudes, Forever Skim Magazine and Flatland Skim Magazine and Gnar Dawg.
