Umm, Brent Lippincott, Tim Pepper, Matt Head, Peter Hodgins, Mike Louie (aka Skim Lou aka Ninja lou), Ryan Newbie, Kyle Guenza, Noah Lane, Matt Lozano, Lon Porteous, Mark Robinson.

Where have you traveled to skimboard?
Washington, and Utah

Where do you want to travel to skim?
Canada for sure, and Europe, Japan, Australia, where ever i’m down.

What board(s) do you ride?
Kayotics

Do you compete?
I try to

What other board sports do you partake in?
Just Skateboarding

What skimboarding goals do you have?
try to be consistant in comps, learn new tricks, and just have fun and travel.

Where do you see the skimboarding going in the future?
thats a good question, i’ve only been in the game for a few years, and already it has grown a lot every year so i dont know, hopefully in the right direction.

What riders influenced your skimboarding?
Got to say Matt Head, Minns …but, mostly Brent Lippincott and Peter Hodgins cause they were the first people i started riding with, and their styles are so sick, and they are great to ride with, always a good time between the mom jokes, and the raptor slides.

What riders are pushing the sport right now?
Minns, Matt Head, Isaac, Newbie, Lynch, i dont know everyone seems to be pushing shit.

If you were stranded on a desert island that already has a plentiful resource of skimboards what three things would you bring?
Beer, Flatbox, and a abundant supply of Beach Hut Deli sandwhichs.

What is the best advice you can to a skim grom trying to get recognized?
Just skim for fun and shit will happen.

What is the skim scene like in Sacramento?
Gnar, Gnar, we have probably the worst skim compared to everyone else, but we have a lot of good riders here and a lot of skim history in Sac. I think the Sac scene is way different from any other skim scene.

Last words? Shoot outs?
Everyone I skim with, the Sac crew…Lon thanks for everything, Minns and the Kayotics crew always a good time, and all my sponsors.

What’s your name?
Kyle Lynch

Where are you from?
White Rock, B.C. Canada

How old are you?
25-years old

How long have you been skimming?
More then ten years, mostly in flatland with a little wave riding here and there.

Where do you skim normally?
Balmers, East Beach, Spanish, Boundary Bay.

Who do you skim with?
The Breaknecks Crew. and a solid crew of guys in White Rock

What is the skimboard scene in BC like?
I think it is pretty substantial we have a really well established flatland community and a growing wave riding community.

Where have you traveled to skimboard?
I have gone all over B.C. including Vancouver Island, and into the interior. Internationally, I haven’t been to that many places I have hit up a bunch of the scenes in Washington and have made my way down the Oregon coast with my skim.

Where do you want to travel to skim?
My goal for this summer is to do a road trip down to Sacramento to hit up a flatland competition and then to work my way back up the coast all the way home. I am pretty stoked to see what hidden gems I can find, might even strap a rail to
the top of whatever clunker I end up buying this summer.

What board(s) do you ride?
I ride an OG large, thick cut. Has lots of pop and is solid on rails.

Do you compete?
Yes.

If so, what competitions have you competed in?
A bunch over the years, its a good way to support the sport. Props to anyone who
organizes an event they are a ton of work.

And what are some of your contest highlights?
I find the actual flatland competitions a little too slow paced, I am the kind of guy
who doesn’t like waiting in a long line to hit a rail. With that said
all competitions have there moments wether it is something someone
landed, an inside joke or if its the journey to get there.

Do you have any sponsors? What companies?

What other board sports do you partake in?
I skateboard a lot, mostly as transportation around white rock.

What skimboarding goals do you have?
Pop Shuv indy over a school bus.

Where do you see the skimboarding going in the future?
Hard to say, the last three or 4 years there has been an explosion in the
number of skimboarders. I am not going to make any prophetic claims,
all I can say is that I love skimboarding and will be doing wether it
is popular or not in mainstream culture.

What riders influenced your skimboarding?
I think the guys around you influence your skimboarding the most, that and the fact I haven’t had a car for the past couple of years has force me to get good at
pure flatland tech tricks.

What riders are pushing the sport right now?
I think that there are certain crews that are pushing flatland skim a lot: Kayotics,
Dashboards, Sacramento riders, Millsriderz in Oz. In wave skimming I
don’t know enough to say, I am sure a quick skimonline visit could
probably get you that answer.

If you were stranded on a desert island that already has a plentiful resource of skimboards what three things would you bring?
Anything to get me off that island, because I am assuming that the
beach is sloped and has no flatland skim.

What is the best advice you can give to a skim grom trying to get recognized?

Be yourself, don’t be afraid to approach the veterans in
your area and don’t worry about sponsorship. Now if you really want to
get sponsored, get in with the in crowd or go to skim competitions,
get on online forums, and make videos.

Last words? Shoot outs?
thanks to skimboardculture for the
interview, props to my brothers in arms at Tydle Mag and the Breakneck
crew. Lastly, thanks to the people who sup Breakneck crew. Lastly, thanks to the people who support the fact I spend way to much time skimming, you know who you are.
